The details that matter.
Your privacy shouldn't depend on what you can see.
PrivacyGuard™ combines RF scanning, magnetic-field detection, camera-lens inspection and automatic signal scanning in one portable rechargeable privacy detector.
Some surveillance devices are designed specifically not to be noticed.
A tiny lens can blend into an everyday object. A wireless transmitter may sit behind furniture. A magnetic tracking device may be attached where a quick visual inspection won't find it. PrivacyGuard™ gives you several complementary ways to inspect an unfamiliar environment.
Four different ways to investigate the room.
The reference device combines RF signal searching, optical camera-lens inspection, magnetic-field sensing and an automatic scanning mode rather than relying on a single detection method.
Don't rely on one signal.
RF Signal Detection
Scans for radio-frequency activity that may be associated with transmitting devices such as wireless cameras, listening devices and some tracking equipment.
Camera Lens Finder
Uses reflected light to help identify the optical reflection from certain exposed camera lenses, including cameras that may not currently be transmitting.
Magnetic Detection
The magnetic probe can help locate strong magnetic objects such as certain magnet-mounted GPS trackers or surveillance devices.
Automatic Scan
The reference includes an automatic signal-scanning mode intended to simplify initial sweeps of an area.
Watch the signal get stronger.
The GC2007 reference uses a 10-level LED indication system together with changing audio feedback. As detected RF energy rises, the indicator can help you narrow down the general area of the source.
Small enough to travel with you.
Perform a privacy inspection after arriving in an unfamiliar room.
Check bedrooms, living areas and other private spaces.
Magnetic detection may help identify certain magnet-mounted tracking devices.
Useful for privacy-conscious checks of meeting and work areas.
Start broad. Then narrow it down.
Wireless environments are full of normal signals: phones, routers, Bluetooth accessories and smart devices. Adjustable sensitivity lets you reduce the detection range as you move closer to a suspicious signal source.
Power on. Scan. Narrow. Inspect.
Reduce Interference
Where practical, switch off your own unnecessary wireless devices before performing an RF check.
Sweep Slowly
Move through the room rather than rapidly waving the detector around.
Narrow The Area
If the signal increases, lower sensitivity and repeat the sweep closer to the source.
Visually Inspect
Use the lens and magnetic modes where appropriate to investigate suspicious areas.
Charge once. Scan for hours.
Amazon lists a built-in 3.7V 1200mAh lithium-polymer battery with approximately three hours of charging and around eight to ten hours of continuous operation.
Built to live in your travel bag.
The Amazon listing describes the unit as a portable handheld privacy detector and includes the main detector, RF antenna, magnetic probe, charging cable and instruction manual with the reference package.
No handheld detector can promise “100% no cameras.”
RF scanning detects radio-frequency activity, so a wired or completely inactive device may not produce a detectable RF signal. Camera-lens finding depends on visibility and reflection. Magnetic detection responds to magnetic fields. PrivacyGuard™ should therefore be used as an inspection aid, not as a guarantee that a room contains no surveillance equipment.
